Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19.
This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light! In Him there is no darkness at all! 1 John 1:5.
If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life! Romans 5:10.
And continuing our 351 Old Testament prophecies, promises of God, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 181: The Everlasting Father, Avi Adth: Isaiah 9:6: For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. And, John 8:58; 10:30: Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.” “I and the Father are one.”
I loved this today from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young: “Do not expect to be treated fairly in this life. People will say and do hurtful things to you, things that you don’t deserve. When someone mistreats you, try to view it as an opportunity to grow in grace. See how quickly you can forgive the one who has wounded you. Don’t be concerned about setting the record straight. Instead of obsessing about other people’s opinions of you, keep your focus on Me. Ultimately, it is My view of you that counts. As you concentrate on relating to Me, remember that I have clothed you in My righteousness and holiness. I see you attired in these radiant garments, which I bought for you with My blood. This also is not fair – it is pure gift. When others treat you unfairly, remember that My ways with you are much better than fair. My ways are Peace and Love, which I have poured out into your heart by My Spirit. Colossians 3:13; Isaiah 61:10; Ephesians 1:7-8; Romans 5:5.”
I love the quiet mornings that I spend with Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. I read my devotionals, I pray and then I listen. And before that time with Him this morning, there were bumps. A large bag of coffee we bought was beans and not ground. And I chose to let His peace help me and that felt so good. And when I prayed and every worry in me poured out to Him, that too felt so good because I know that He knows all that is wrong in me and in you and in all of us and in all of our world today. That’s why I added the exclamation points in the 2nd and 3rd Scripture verses above and that’s why I capitalized all of I AM when Jesus told the people who He is. We need those exclamation points of understanding! We need to know who God is and we need to know who we are and why we need His help that He longs to give if we would only turn to Him in trust. We are in the midst of the most awful political ads and season filled with lies and rancor and it is wearing down my very soul. Hate of every single type and kind belies God’s love for us. And we are diminished every time we partake in it. People at political rallies who laugh and applaud as others are maligned viciously are diminished in their spirit by choosing hate. So am I. Why do we think Jesus came and why do we think He will return? Because we all of us need Creator God. All of us. We shall be saved by His LIFE!!!
***For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Philippians 1:21-22 NIV.***
