Trust God’s Love To Heal Even In Sorrow That Is Heavy Laden

Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called the believers and the widows and presented her to them alive. Acts 9:40-41.

When Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples . . . He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities. Matthew 11:1.

Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:38.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need. Luke 12:31.

And continuing our 351 Old Testament prophecies, promises of God, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 99: Not a bone of Him broken. Psalm 34:20: He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken. And, John 19:31-36: Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe. For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, “Not a bone of Him shall be broken.”

What a difference is shown in how Jesus, the Son, Creator God, and His disciple Peter in the Scripture verses above, acted. Jesus taught and healed and interacted with people others would have discarded as worthless. And Peter and the other disciples followed His example after His crucifixion and resurrection. So bodies would not remain on the cross on a High day, they asked that the bones of the legs be broken. No compassion. Routine discarding of what is seen as worthless. What do we see as worthless today? What a difference in how Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit sees. Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people and will have compassion on His afflicted. But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, and the LORD has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:13-16. What a difference! Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.

***PEACE You are the peace of all things calm. You are the place to hide from harm. You are the light that shines in dark. You are the heart’s eternal spark. You are the door that’s open wide. You are the guest who waits inside. You are the stranger at the door. You are the calling of the poor. You are my LORD and with me still. You are my love; keep me from ill. You are the light, the truth, the way. You are my Savior this very day. A prayer from Celtic oral tradition, first millennium.***
