Trust In the LORD With All Your Heart for the Good He Brings

Say the word, and my servant will be healed. Luke 7:7.

He said, “Who are You, Lord?” Acts 9:5.

The thief’s purpose is to steal. . . My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10.

And continuing our 351 Old Testament prophecies, promises of God, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 90: He shall be the governor of the nations. Psalm 22:27-28: All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORD’S and He rules over the nations. And, Colossians 1:16: For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him.

When I see this world and all the things happening in it today, I take great comfort in this promise of God – for the kingdom is the LORD’S and He rules over the nations. There will be a turning back to God…all the ends of the earth…all the families of the nations. And Paul showed the way for those who love and trust Him now – Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3. I take comfort in that not only for all nations past, present and future, but also for myself. The kingdom is the LORD’S. Whatever trials or challenges we are facing personally, He is LORD of that kingdom as well. The “kingdom” of myself, of my reign controlling everything I can, is diminishing with every successive year I live in aging. And the huge boulders I see that make everything so much harder now are nothing to Him who walks with me on the straight path, promising me He will never leave me.

***WHEN MY LOVE GROWS WEAK When my love to Christ grows weak, when for deeper faith I seek, then in thought I go to thee, garden of Gethsemane! There I walk amid the shades while the ling’ring twilight fades, see that suff’ring, friendless One, weeping, praying there alone. When my love for man grows weak, when for stronger faith I seek, hill of Calvary, I go to thy scenes of fear and woe. There behold His agony, suffered on the bitter tree; see His anguish, see His faith: love triumphant still in death. Then to life I turn again, learning all the worth of pain, learning all the might that lies in a full self-sacrifice. John R. Wreford, “When My Love to God (Christ) Grows Weak,” 1837.***
