When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal Myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams. But this is not true of My servant Moses…With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Numbers 12:6-8.
All glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20.
And continuing our 351 Old Testament prophecies, promises of God, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 57: Mediator between man and God. Job 9:32-33: For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, that we may go to court together. There is no umpire between us, who may lay his hand upon us both. And, 1 Timothy 2:5: For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
Today in our Friday Zoom retreat, we talked about Liturgical in the sense of embracing what gave comfort and meaning to generations of believers drawing near to God. A quote from Henri Nouwen: “Prayer therefore is the act of dying to all we consider to be our own and of being born to a new existence which is not of this world.” That may sound abstract but I’m realizing in my daily struggles of late, that I want and need deeper shared prayer that I bring to God. That instead of just sitting quietly with God to be near, I need more than just spontaneous thoughts or striving to be still with Him. I need connection shared through many generations of believers. Why is that so important to me now? Because I am experiencing loss of familiar. Loss of family connection, loss of memories, loss of being anchored in knowing what is. Things are changing. I need a deeper connection to what is eternal and substantial. Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, is eternal. I want to share in the deep flow of prayers that remind me our God is Holy and I am His. Deeper connections through shared faith rising together in prayer to God. Sacred. Holy. Needed.
