Are We Letting God’s Love In?

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35.

A Gentile woman who lived there came to Him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” Matthew 15:22.

And continuing our 351 Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 13: The Seed of Isaac promised as the Redeemer. Genesis 26:2-5: The Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; stay in the land of which I shall tell you. Sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham. I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws.” And, Hebrews 11:18: …it was he to whom it was said, “In Isaac your descendants shall be called.”

We watched another episode of House of David on Prime last night. And it was difficult to watch how determined were people to go their own way that led to destruction and evil acts and darkness. And I loved what Samuel said to David when he was driven away from Saul by Saul’s jealous rage, “You are not alone.” Even surrounded as David was by his mighty warriors who knew David was anointed by God, David felt alone. When we choose Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, we are never alone because He is with us. What about the darkness of today in a world continuing to choose its own way of rejecting God, that leads to destruction and evil acts and darkness? As David lived knowing God was with him, he poured out his heart to Him in the words we have today as Psalms. Have we, who think we have God, strayed so far from Him that our violence and hatred for others is the darkness we stumble in? Us against them. Christian Nationalism against who? An enemy? God speaks to us: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this – all men will know that you are My disciples – if you have love for one another. God breaks down enemies, for vengeance is His and not ours. Let others by violence take by force their idea of the kingdom of God. Are we who love God mocking God thinking we know better, or are we letting God’s love into our own hearts and minds so He can do His needed work in us? Are we who love God trusting Him for all things? Our world is unraveling in pride and hate and evil acts toward one another. How can it not when you choose life apart from God? Never forget, Creator God IS and He is all around us and He is our help in all things. You are not alone when you choose God and His love guiding you. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly! His words are life leading us away from all darkness. His love is our light! We are all of us the nations of the earth spoken in the prophecy to Abraham. Our redeemer lives! Let Him live in you and me by His words of Life that never fail.
