All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen. 2 Corinthians 1:20.
With Your counsel You will guide me, and afterward receive me to glory. Psalm 73:24.
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. I am determined to keep Your decrees to the very end. I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love Your instructions. Psalm 119:111-113.
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21.
And in the 351 Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we come to number 10: Seed of Isaac (Gen. 21:12). Genesis 17:19: But God said, “No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. And, Romans 9:7: …nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “Through Isaac your descendants will be named.”
If there is one thing I am learning in my walk with Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, it is how complex and messed up we all of us truly are. There is nothing simple about any of us. And He is helping me see that I am just as complex and messed up as anyone else. As I am learning to go to Him when I am frustrated with myself and discouraged, I’m learning it is always me that I need to bring before Him in prayer. And it is in turning to Him that He is able to bring His peace to bear in me. If we don’t see and accept our own deep need for God, how can we possibly pray for others? In going to God for myself, I find His love. Knowing His love for me and accepting that wonderful gift helps me see how much I need to desire Him above all else. The light of His love in us is how we are able to love others. I can’t change anyone, and trying to in all my own imperfections and messiness brings frustration to me and harm to them. But I can pray for God’s love for them. I think that’s the most honest prayer I can give for anyone. God’s love for them. Remembering God’s love for me helps me love them even in my own messiness because it is God’s love that shines through when I don’t get in the way. And that helps me stay in the big picture of God’s redeeming love. From beginning to beginning God’s love IS and we are blessed.
