For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. 1 Chronicles 16:25-27.
I love this chapter, 1 Chronicles 16. David has brought the ark of God to the tent that David had made for it. He implemented the worship and praise of God to extol, thank and praise the Lord, the God of Israel. v. 4. Obed-Edom is there with all the Levites to minister in their appointed places. I love seeing his name again! It reminds me of the continuity of us. One day we will all of us be in a reunion that will be so wonderful we won’t know how to contain our joy and gratefulness for a God with so much love He created. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. v. 34.
Outside I can hear the elementary school kids as they walk to their first day of school. There is excitement and trepidation. The youngest kids hold their parents’ hands tightly with backpacks that look too large on their small backs. New beginnings. Life.
Seek His face always because this is our life that He created and loves. There is an old saying: we come into this world alone, and we leave the same way, the time we spend in between…time spent alive, sharing, learning together is all that makes life worth living. And nothing could be further from the truth. We are never alone. We were brought into this world from a womb of our mothers and likely with help. Our wonderful Creator God knew us before we were born. The word of the Lord came to me saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5.
Time spent alive, sharing, learning together, experiencing life itself with others is the gift God gave to each of us. He didn’t need to do that. He wanted to do that. The greatest gift you will ever receive is your walk with our Creator God who loves you. He is at our beginning and He is at our new beginning with Him when this life of ours in this time is over. Strength and joy are in His dwelling place! We are never alone! We are loved always by the One who never leaves us or abandons us ever! Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39. Seek His face always and find Him loving you always.

What a lovely encouraging post Maureen! It reminded me of an old gospel hymn “No Never Alone” which you can hear here https://youtu.be/oUkk7RvctCw
