When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12.
Reading the above verse I can’t help but realize that I can’t get there on my own. I need God’s help. We all do.
We live in a world where each of us cling stubbornly to ways that bring us and others pain. We stumble in darkness.
We can read our chapter, 1 Chronicles 14, and read where David went to God and God answered him, v. 10, 14. The Philistines were attacking and God led David to victory.
How about us? Do we want the light of life in our lives?
When we ask God to help us a remarkable thing happens. He does. He doesn’t control our every thought and action.
He lights the way to His truth and love for us. Gently, patiently, lovingly. His love lights the way to Him. Thank You, Lord, for so great a love! When you’re ready, ask. He’s here. You can begin your walk of trust and find the most beautiful light there is.

I just read that chapter earlier today, what struck me was that David didn’t act without first asking God. In this he was kept in that beautiful light of God! May we always seek His guidance before anything. Thank you for sharing this reaffirming post sister! God bless you and your family today 🙏

Thank you, Alan! I really had a tough time typing my blog this morning. It kept getting stuck on autosaving (and not saving) what I had written several times, so I would go back and retype probably 4 times changing it subtly each time. I think God wanted me to pare down the blog to the most important bits! What I wanted to share and that God must have thought extraneous was that David was not perfect as evidenced by his multiple marriages but that none of us are perfect. That doesn’t stop God guiding us or loving us. But the notion of the beautiful light of God’s truth and love was most important!
