Thank You For Your Holiness, Lord

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Revelation 5:11-12.

This morning there is a fog enveloping everything in quiet and soft beauty. How beautiful is this creation our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, has made! And we can be thankful to be blessed to be loved by Him who is holy and righteous. There is no darkness in our God!

There is darkness in the hearts of us. All we have to do is look around at the injustices and corruption, the violence and above all the idolatry. What idolatry? Thinking we know better. The psalmist asks questions in Psalm 94. How long, Lord, will the wicked be jubilant?…Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?…Does he who formed the eye not see?…Does he who disciplines nations not punish?…Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?…Can a corrupt throne be allied with you – a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?…v. 1, 3, 9, 10, 20. I love that one sentence answers these questions: Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. v. 15. That day is yet to be. What about us now? When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. v. 18-19. That is so personal! Our God and us. The very opposite of evil. And the amazing thing is that when we come to this personal relationship with our Creator God, we can say with the psalmist: But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. v. 22. You can read the verses I have left out about what happens to the wicked. Remember we are not God. Only God can judge in righteousness. Only He is worthy. This I know…we can trust God. When we turn to Him we turn away from evil. When we ask He teaches us a better way. Walking with our God makes bearable the darkness we see because the light of His love shines in our hearts and minds and we know His peace and it is with Him. Thank You Lord for You. You are Holy and You bring Goodness.
