I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. Acts 26:19.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! Isaiah 26:3.
There comes a point in our walk with God that we know His Presence and we go to Him gladly. It is with Him that we find His peace that centers us in His love. And being with Him how can we not pray for that same knowing for others? Our chapter, 1 John 4, is about that love and peace and knowing. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.
Something remarkable happens within us as we open ourselves to Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. We hunger for closeness with Him. We see the stark difference of our world denying everything God is and going its own way in blindness and hardness of heart. We see the awful price paid in suffering and confusion. Our world today. But when you see that clearly and can no longer bear that awful spirit of error any longer, turn to God. His love and His peace becomes your foundation of truth that is for all eternity. And that changes everything! Creator God created. He is love. He is able to show you His love for you. He is able to show you His love for His children dearly loved. He will show you how personal is His love that He came in the flesh to be with us and show us the Father whom no had seen because before that time it was the Word who became flesh that spoke to the ancestors. He has never left us – not after the garden and not now. He taught the people living then, and can you imagine? The Spirit of Truth! He teaches us still through His Spirit dwelling with us. And with Him we enter into a spacious place where the fears and worries for all that is in this world turned away from Him falls away. Our fears become not of what can happen to us in this world – but for the world in so desperate need of His love and His peace and His truth. It takes time and He walks with us through every part of it giving us His strength and our hope. Jesus the Son came in the flesh so we could know our Savior and turn to Him and know Him now – and forever walk with Him! We can’t imagine what that future will be but He knows and that’s more than enough because He is everything. Nothing in this world apart from Him is enough as every generation has experienced. We live and die in this world. We abide in Him who loves us. By this the love of God was manifested in us – that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him! The Spirit of Truth!
