(The Pharisees said,) “We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where He comes from.” John 9:29.
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you. 1 Peter 4:12.
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” Revelation 4:8 NKJV.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. Proverbs 10:32.
Our ladies group has started a new Bible Study called God of Deliverance A Study of Exodus 1-18 by Jen Wilkin. I loved in the introduction when she wrote that “the heart cannot love what the mind does not know”. And the more we know Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, the more we can love and know His love is active and working in ways we cannot see until we allow ourselves to know that He is right there with us. And that helps us be patient in afflictions trusting Him whether those afflictions are ours, theirs, or the worlds. Our God is faithful and He is steady. And in our chapter, Titus 2, are instructions to help us be steady and constant trusting God. But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance. Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Are you willing to walk with God and let Him teach you? Are you willing to let His love for you grow in you? Are we willing to trust Him for the experiences shaping our own lives in this world that if we are willing can grow deep roots in us born of His redeeming love? For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all men…instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age…looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. The world within us shifts as we come to know God. His love is steady, constant and true. His faithfulness is our true north as we live in a world steeped in lawlessness. He shows us a better way as He walks with us and it is personal…it is His love.
