In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit. Ephesians 2:21-22.
To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Jude 24-25.
I loved and need this from My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers: “If we are not heedful and pay no attention to the way the Spirit of God works in us, we will become spiritual hypocrites. We see where other people are failing, and then we take our discernment and turn it into comments of ridicule and criticism, instead of turning it into intercession on their behalf. God reveals this truth about others to us not through the sharpness of our minds but through the direct penetration of His Spirit. If we are not attentive, we will be completely unaware of the source of the discernment God has given us, becoming critical of others and forgetting that God says, “he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death.” Be careful that you don’t become a hypocrite by spending all your time trying to get others right with God before you worship Him yourself. One of the most subtle and illusive burdens God ever places on us as saints is this burden of discernment concerning others. He gives us discernment so that we may accept the responsibility for those souls before Him and form the mind of Christ about them (see Philippians 2:5). We should intercede in accordance with what God says He will give us, namely, “life for those who commit sin not leading to death.” It is not that we are able to bring God into contact with our minds, but that we awaken ourselves to the point where God is able to convey His mind to us regarding the people for whom we intercede. Can Jesus Christ see the agony of His soul in us? He can’t unless we are so closely identified with Him that we have His view concerning the people for whom we pray. May we learn to intercede so wholeheartedly that Jesus Christ will be completely and overwhelmingly satisfied with us as intercessors.”
What does that mean except to love others and trust Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, for the love He has for us all. I can’t love that way. He can. I can look Him and trust Him to teach me. And our chapter, Daniel 12, is the final chapter of Daniel. And God continues to reveal to Daniel what his visions meant. “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people – everyone whose name is found written in the book – will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” Then I, Daniel, looked and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. One of them said to the man clothed in linen who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?” The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted His right hand and His left hand toward heaven, and I heard Him swear by Him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.” I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My Lord, what will the outcome of all this be?” He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” v. 1-13.
There was a time when I read these words and obsessed about what these so-specific number of days meant. Not anymore. These words now mean so much more: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20. And we don’t do this alone…And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit. There is such joy in loving Creator God and sharing that love with others who love Him. When I brought to Him this morning my burden and weight of worries, it was as though He lifted them and “cleaned house”! Let Him “clean house” in you! We have so many wrong ideas about God. He longs to show you Him…who He is and how much you and me and all of His children are loved. Yesterday after the sermon, which was wonderful, I was able to ask about the first words he spoke to us…Are we perfect when we are baptized? I shook my head no. How can we be? I know what I am still. But he said, yes! When we are baptized, we are baptized into His death for us so we can be brought up into His life with His Spirit living in us – and He is perfect. Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30. We are still flesh after we are baptized and subject to the sins of the flesh we don’t let go. And He is here to help us grow in understanding so that it is to Him always that we turn for help. Day by day, He is here to help us return to the simple and most beautiful and pure truth there is…Creator God, who created us, loves us. And in that truth we can begin to love Him…and…He will help us love one another! Creator God will take care of everything that matters. What a journey! Thank You, Lord God, for so great a Love!
