Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11.
I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty! Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever. John 6:35, 57, 58.
Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? Then, what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you – they are full of the Spirit and life.” John 6:61-63.
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52.
And then, we come to our chapter, Isaiah 12. In that day…when Scripture is fulfilled for all of us…In that day you will say: “I will praise You, Lord. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away and You have comforted me.” v. 1. He comforts us! Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” v. 2-6.
In this world of darkness, a great light has shown because we are loved. We see it most clearly when we turn to Creator God…Father…Son…Spirit. He comforts us because we are hurting and in pain. There is so much confusion in this world that we can be lost and not even perceive that lostness. But God sees. That’s why He came and became our sacrifice given in great love. Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27. A great light bringing hope, healing, radiant joy!
