The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3:8.
But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Luke 18:13-14.
I am always with You; You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me into glory. Psalm 73:23-24.
In this world there is so much confusion. We hardly understand ourselves, how can we truly understand others? There is something uplifting beyond ourselves when we meet with others to talk about Creator God – Father…Son…Spirit. For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:20. When we begin to seek God, we also find comfort and strength in the journey others have taken with Him. A world opens up and we find hope and encouragement. We find we are part of a body and not alone; and Jesus calls us His own. Our bodies, our minds, our souls have been deeply wounded. Sharing that woundedness brings healing and hope as we realize we are not alone in our suffering and we can help in bringing comfort because we understand how deep that hurt goes. And the deepest joy and comfort comes as we realize that God is right there with us. We can’t see everything but He does. He gathers us together where true healing can begin. His Spirit to our spirit spilling over to others in need.
And our chapter, Song of Songs 6…Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession? v. 10. I love that verse because I can only imagine what it will be like when Jesus returns. There will be no more darkness. His Love will bring healing into every soul and truly, it is God’s Love that heals us. There is no other way. When you consider all of the pain that this world has suffered, you can’t help but see the lack of love for others. What is the love that will save us? Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We can’t love that way, but with God’s help we can keep our eyes on Him who can. We can seek Him and let His love begin to heal our wounded, hurting souls and bring us His peace because we trust Him for all things. How? We ask. We trust Him to show us where we have sinned and we confess our sins to Him who loves us. Healing begins with Him loving us and our loving Him. He forgives us our sins and we find they don’t hold us in chains anymore. We can lift up our head so we can look into His eyes of Love for us. We can take His hand in absolute trust knowing He will never lead us astray. He will comfort us and teach us. We will find our Lord and Savior and He will be our deepest joy and hope. It’s God’s truth that matters. He is Truth.
