Trust In the Lord At All Times

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him. Hebrews 12:5.

May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.

As it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Do you trust Creator God – Father…Son…Spirit? If we can understand this world needs help, do we trust God to provide that help? When times of testing come into your life, do you turn to God for help? It’s good to ask ourselves these questions and the obvious question remains: if you don’t trust God, who do you trust? Our next chapter, Proverbs 30, begins with quite a statement…The sayings of Agur son of Jakeh – an inspired utterance…but as I kept reading, there was so much to appreciate. I am weary, God, but I can prevail. Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding. I have not learned wisdom, nor have I attained to the knowledge of the Holy One. Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is the name of His Son? Surely you know! v. 1-4. How could these words and thoughts be written hundreds of years before Jesus, the Son of God, came down from heaven and returned to the Father? Because Scripture is the inspired word of God and if we can be still and listen, we can learn from Him who gives understanding. Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar. Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, “Who is the Lord?” Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. v. 5-9. Can we stay so close to God that love for Him directs our steps? There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, “Enough!”: the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says, “Enough!”…There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a young woman…Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise: Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in summer; hyraxes are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags; locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks; a lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings’ palaces…v. 15-16, 18-19, 24-28. As I was reading this chapter, I marveled at the play of light and shadow upon the wall as the sun rose higher in our sky. Can we marvel at the sun that has not burned itself out and that creates such beauty of light and shadow? Can we marvel that we can be still with our God and He is here with us – Spirit to spirit? Teaching us through His word and through His Spirit speaking to our spirit. What a journey we have this day and through eternity! If you cannot trust the Creator of all that is, what can you trust? Can you make the light move across a wall, can you make light out of nothing? What wonders bring you closer to appreciating what you cannot create? Do not marvel at them and forget the One who created them! Let your love for what He created bring you into communion with Him. Open your eyes, your ears, your heart and mind to God who loves you and receive from Him the faith you need to trust Him for all things and in every situation now and yet to be. Trust in the Lord at all times for He is our God who loves us and His Love is working for our good always. How can we possibly endure the evil in this world that we cannot change? We trust the One who will bring an end to all evil and work healing into every heart and mind wounded and in need of His Love. Let us marvel in His Truth and His Love and His Compassion. Follow Him for He is Worthy!
