If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 NKJV.
If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16.
I loved reading this in You Are the Beloved by Henri Nouwen: “The greatest spiritual battle begins – and never ends – with the reclaiming of our closeness. Long before any human being saw us, we are seen by God’s loving eyes. Long before anyone heard us cry or laugh, we are heard by our God who is all ears for us. Long before any person spoke to us in this world, we are spoken to by the voice of eternal love.”
We can read all of the words written above and miss the love of Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. But when we ask, when we long for that kind of love, He is here. He is always here. Don’t be afraid to go to God and ask for His help to help you trust Him for everything you need to walk in faith with Him. Yes He is Holy and yes we are not. Can you imagine? If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness…the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. Why do you think He did all of that for us? For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:16-17. Know God and draw close to Him. Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. John 17:3. The voice of eternal Love.
And reading our chapter, Proverbs 28…The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion…Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked, but those who heed it resist them…Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully…Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy…Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble…Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe…v. 1, 4, 5, 13, 14, 26.
There is a path we can walk with God. Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. How do we walk that path with Him? We come to need that is so great our spirit cries out and He is here. Cry out to Him. Give every turmoil within you to Him. You have been broken. He knows….remember…”the greatest spiritual battle begins – and never ends – with the reclaiming of our closeness”…closeness with our God who loves us and never stops loving us. The world does not understand the depth and height of that kind of Love but our God is that Love. Draw close to Him. He loves you. He will guide you on the path that is your healing in Him.
