Faithful Being

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8 NKJV.

Those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. Romans 8:29.

There are times when I get overwhelmed and feel incapable and so small. Who can comprehend the complexities of this life we live? In prayer with Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, He told me to listen. Did I hear the longing for what He made in the song of the bird so small? Listen to the faithfulness of being. As I sat still listening, I felt the warmth of the sun on my closed eyelids. I listened to that small bird singing. I remembered the warm blue of the early morning sky with the blue reflected onto the floor that I love seeing each morning. Faithful being. We are His and all of creation is His. Being with Him calms any storms raging within me just as surely as Jesus calmed the storm on the water His disciples were so fearful of. Reading this chapter, Proverbs 5, is the reminder of how God wants what is best for all of us. Storms calmed. In this chapter, Solomon is warning his sons against the adulterous woman. If he had been warning his daughters, he would have warned against adulterous men. Why does any parent warn their children? They don’t want to see them come to harm. We know the dangers that are out there and so does Creator God. For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and He examines all your paths. The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast. For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly…v. 21-23. And we are hurt all of us by our own great folly, whatever that is. We don’t comprehend it as folly until we do with His help. Listen. Faithful being. God will never lead us astray. And the amazing truth is that He is here. In God is grace, beauty, love and a way of being that is Holy and good and needed. We get glimpses of how good our God is when we experience moments touched by His grace and love. Moments to be remembered and pondered. In the midst of the pain we ourselves bring are moments of clarity of what is good. We can shy away or we can give thanks and turn to our God who loves us and His creation. Faithful being with Him.
