And God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky…Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures…Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind…Let Us make humankind in Our image, according to Our likeness.” Genesis 1:14, 20, 24, 26. NRSV.
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Psalm 105:3. ESV.
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. John 10:27-28.
This morning I was thinking about my life and on the fringes of my thoughts lately is a picture of the wide road and the narrow road that Jesus talked about…Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14. All of my life Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, has been there; and there were moments I was aware of His thoughts guiding me to joy, to awareness this moment is important, and to warnings of not this way…and each proved true. And now, in whatever time I have left in this present physical world, I need Him more than ever. How can I not trust God when He has been there for me all of my life? I want a closer walk with Him and me together and I long for that for everyone. A few weeks ago I was in prayer and I saw a path with woods and plants on every side. A man stood there. I knew it wasn’t a normal man. That’s when I started thinking more about the wide, broad road because in this life we live, the road we walk is important. All of our experiences, good and not good, form our life. I want to walk the road that leads to knowing God’s love. Are we pushing and shoving our way through crowds of people clamoring to do what leads to destruction in this life?
Our final psalm of the Book of Psalms, Psalm 150: Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
There are so many roads. Our life experiences all are formed on roads we walk sometimes alone and sometimes with others. Where do they lead? Where do you want them to lead?
