We have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding…giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Colossians 1:9, 12.
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Ephesians 5:8-9 NLT.
We do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV.
I love the above Scripture verses because they remind us that our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit, are light and hope and in them we come alive. The writer of Psalm 89 understood the glory of our God. Who else can accomplish what He has set forth? I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations…I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself…v. 1, 2. He imagines what it must be like in the heavenly realm where God’s beautiful light shines unhindered. The heavens praise your wonders, Lord, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones…For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?…Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?…In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him…Who is like you, Lord God Almighty?…You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you…v. 5-8. And this…Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you…Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord…v. 14, 15. He speaks about David, I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him…v. 20, 21. And God did. And from the line of David would our Messiah come. I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers…He will call out to me, “You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior”. And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth…I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail…I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure…v. 25-29. And the most amazing verses that we can all take to heart? If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes, if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. v. 30-34. Jesus told parables about what would happen when Father God sent His Son…Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations, the taunts with which your enemies, Lord, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one…v. 50, 51. And what did Jesus do? Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34. But thanks be to God, He knows what He is doing. Praise be to the Lord forever! Amen and Amen. v. 52.
All of Scripture speaks to the Father’s love. The Kingdom of His Light. Even though we have all of us sinned He will not remove His love. He died for us. Father, Son, Spirit are One. Can we begin to grasp the depth of His love for us? Can we begin to trust His love will accomplish His will for us and walk in the Light of His love? We are being renewed day by day. Let God renew you and bring His light into your heart and mind. Walking with Him in the light of His love is our hope and our destiny.
