Lock Onto Joy

I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalm 73:23-24.

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, GOD did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4.

How do we lock onto joy? Even in the midst of the ways of this world steeped in pride, anger, hate, revenge, self-glory. We look up and keep our eyes on our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. The writer of this psalm, Psalm 67, did that and in doing that, he could see the time when all people praise God. Isn’t that God’s will for us, that none should perish but that all could know His love and grow in praise for His glory to our great joy. May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us – so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. v. 1, 2. All nations. Can you imagine? Remember Psalm 65? When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions…The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders…where morning dawns, where evening fades…you call forth songs of joy! Can we put it all together? So that your ways may be known on earth…your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you…May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth…v. 3, 4.

Where are we today? Safe in God’s plan for His purpose for all of us. His will is for our good. Do you know what God told me today? Let go of control or it will control you to great harm. Put your trust and hope in Me and be patient always. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. Psalm 145: 8. It’s difficult to appreciate patience when I am so impatient but God is helping me. I can’t solve the problems of this world…when we were overwhelmed by sins…but God can. He provided the way and forgives our transgressions; not so that we can keep on sinning but so that we can choose life…so we can live according to the Spirit. It’s more than possible with our God helping us. A path with God. Lock onto joy and be with Him! Glimpse our future together with our God who loves us. That is our joy!
