You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:9-10.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. Matthew 10:29. 

In our chapter, Job 35, Elihu asks, If you sin, how does that affect him? If your sins are many, what does that do to him?…If you are righteous, what do you give to him, or what does he receive from your hand?…Your wickedness only affects humans like yourself, and your righteousness only other people…v. 6, 7, 8. Only? Only other people affected by our sins? Is that not enough? How about us? What do our sins do to us? Is God not impacted by the sins we do to one another? Is a parent, a spouse, a child affected by our sins and that not hurt us as well as them? Look up to the heavens and see; gaze at the clouds so high above you…But no one says, “Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night, who teaches us more than he teaches the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds in the sky”? v. 5, 10, 11. God’s righteousness stands no matter how many sins we humans commit. And what wisdom does He teach us? Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. Deuteronomy 30:19-20. 

What benefit is there for us in our relationship with our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit? Much in every way! In Him we know peace only He can give. In Him we find faithfulness for He is faithful. In Him our heart is open to possibility and hope we cannot find on our own or in this world. In Him is newness of life and understanding with Him guiding us. In Him is Life eternal. Our Creator God lives there now. We don’t. We can. We can begin in this life to take His hand as He leads us to Him. He will teach us. He will guide us to fellowship with Him and with others whose hearts long for Him. He makes everything good possible and delights to do so. Choose Life with Him. It is Good and He longs for you to discover His love for you and me. He will never force His love on you….but His love for you stands. Always. Why? How? Because God is Love.
