Be With Us Lord I Pray

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. Proverbs 8:17.

Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Psalm 29:2.

A simple prayer…be with me today, Lord…A prayer of the heart seeking closeness with our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. The 1st Scripture reference was in Hearing God by Dallas Willard, and I loved how he wrote: as G. Campbell Morgan has written in How to Live, that “wherever there are hearts waiting for the Voice of God, that Voice is to be heard.”

In so many ways, that is what I long for as I read Scripture and devotionals and books written to expound on God’s love for us. I can read our chapter, Job 8, and know ahead that the advice of the 3 friends of Job, well-intentioned and sincere, was not pleasing to God. When we ask, does God pervert justice, v. 3, what does justice look like to us? What does justice look like to God? When Bildad says, “when your children sinned against him, he gave them over to the penalty of their sin.” v. 4, is that how we see God? They sinned…they deserved the penalty of their sin…what about us? Do we remember who it was who accused Job? Not God. Can we stop accusing one another and with one another begin to learn from God about His love for all of us? For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11. Are we building one another up today – were Job’s 3 friends building him up? God does. Cutting to the heart of all that matters is God’s love for us. As we truly take that understanding deep within us, we realize we never walk alone for our God goes with us always. Please don’t ever think God cannot forgive you, that your sins are too great. He already has forgiven you and me. He, our Creator God, died for us and we will live with Him. Lets glorify God and worship Him in the beauty of holiness! What a difference His love makes in our lives. We are Home. Do you want to be Home? Be with God today. He’s here in the lives we live now. Always.
