Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21.
Can we let that Scripture sit deep within us? We live in a world growing more and more irrational and the truth of God grows more and more stable. The uncertainties of this world cannot compare with the certainty of God’s love and Sovereignty.
And in our chapter, Nehemiah 12, two large choirs go up to the top of the wall and in opposite directions to give thanks and sing praises to God. At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with music of cymbals, harps and lyres. v. 27.
Can you imagine how wonderful that time was when the people were pouring forth praise together in song and great love and thankfulness for all God is doing? The kingdom of God is within you.
With God’s Spirit speaking to our spirits, can we open our hearts and minds to all He is teaching us about His love for us? One day all of creation will join in and celebrate all that God is doing because all of creation is because of our Creator God – Father, Son, Spirit. Let His love be stored deep in your soul because in Him we are Home…all of us joined together and needing our Creator. Look around. See how great is our need for His love in this world of hurting and pain. A hurting and pain so deep we cannot fathom. He brings His love to bear in our hearts and minds and healing begins where it must…in Him. Rejoice that you are loved. Rejoice that you can love Him and take His hand. He’s here. Always.
