As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit – just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27.
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you”. Jeremiah 31:3.
We come to a short chapter, 2 Chronicles 27. Jotham is king of Judah and Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God. v. 6. In v. 2: He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done, but unlike him he did not enter the temple of the Lord. The people, however, continued their corrupt practices. (In the notes below: This sinfulness of Jotham’s kingdom is vividly portrayed in Isaiah 1-5.) Reading those chapters in Isaiah is reading every age of man without their love for God. And in the beginning of Isaiah 6 referencing the year Uzziah, father of Jotham, died, we see a glimpse of the Lord’s throne in heaven reminding us of Revelation.
Can we pull it all together? Every breath we take God has provided. Every time we turn to Him, He provides His peace. Remember our breath prayer? Close your eyes. Sit in stillness. As you breathe in…Holy God…as you breathe out…be with me. As I did just that this morning our sliding door was opened to the coolness of the morning and I could feel the breeze and hear the sound of it…I could hear birdsong…I could hear the sounds of life. Life exists because God created. Our life is but a breath…a moment. With God is the peace of trusting Him for everything. Everything!
Bless the Lord, o my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Psalm 103:1-4.
Thank You, Lord, for everything.
