God’s Love Is Perfect

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8.

Do you ever wonder why this world is the way it is? We live lives and experience so many things good and bad. Multiply that by everyone who has ever lived and will yet live and we have complexity. Look at one man…Asa, king of Judah. For ten years of his reign he looked to God. And then he didn’t. He turned to a foreign king when the king of Israel was fortifying a city to prevent anyone from leaving or entering Judah, 2 Chronicles 16:1. Why didn’t he turn to God for help? When God sent Hanani to remind Asa of the help He had given him before, Asa had him put in prison in a fit of rage, v. 7-10.

What was the message of Hanani? Yet when you relied on the Lord, he delivered them into your hand. For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. v. 8-9.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him…for the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

We live in an imperfect world and we ourselves are imperfect. This world we live in is built on shifting sand. We can’t stabilize the sand. We can look to our Creator God whose Love is perfect. It’s His Love that strengthens our hearts and lifts us onto firm ground. How do we taste and see that the Lord is good and that His Love is perfect? We talk to Him. We ask for His help and guidance. We wait and listen and let His perfect Love speak to our hearts and minds. He is patient. He is kind. You are loved in His perfect Love.
