A Closer Walk of Trust

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16.

If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

I love this part in our chapter: But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God: “Say to Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’” 2 Chronicles 11:2-4.

Do we ever consider what God is doing in our world today? How about in our countries, our cities, our towns, our places of worship?

How about in our own hearts?

When we are nudged by God something happens to our hearts and minds. It starts small. A thought, a longing, a wish for something better and more real, something good. If we let the light of His love from that nudge into our hearts, miracles happen. The greatest miracle we will find is knowing that God – Father, Son, Spirit – is with us always and that He loves us so much He came to be with us. Just as He was right there in the midst of all the turmoil and sins of the lives of the disciples, He is right here in the midst of all of us.

He’s helping me to see that I don’t need to be in a hurry to be with God. He’s here with me now. There is such comfort in that especially in this present world we are living in now. When the world doesn’t make any sense, it’s good to remember that God is Sovereign and sometimes He tells us, Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing. As I walk with Him, I realize that there will be unfamiliar territory and that I need to let go of the need for control and trust Him. Let go. I am not Sovereign…God is. As I trust God, I can lift my head, and walk forward with Him knowing He will guide me safely forward. Will there be problems? Absolutely! He’s here. Will there be joys? Absolutely! He’s here. Will there be times of uncertainty and despair? Absolutely. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters, He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23 NKJV.

Thank You, Lord, for so great a Love. Thank you for the miracle of You and a closer walk of trust with You guiding me all the days of my life into eternity.
