What Songs Will Be Sung?

Judges 5 is a song sung by Deborah and Barak praising God and remembering what has happened. My heart is with Israel’s princes, with the willing volunteers among the people. Praise the Lord! v. 9. When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves – praise the Lord! v. 2. So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength. v. 31.

I can’t help but think of a line in the movie, The Hunger Games. Remember who the real enemy is!

The people sang a song of praise to God for victory over their enemies. What songs does God sing? Jesus said, “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:8-10.

Can you imagine the songs that will be sung in God’s Kingdom when the real enemy is no more? When each of us have experienced all this life holds and the battles within and without are done, what songs will we sing? Will it be like the pain of childbirth that mercifully we do not remember in our memories of that time? All these are the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24:8.

The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:26.

I love how our Creator God is patient. Time is on His side. He knows our beginning from our end and He knows the power of His healing love to redeem and restore. Can you imagine the songs that will be sung when we are reunited with loved ones? When we are reunited with our Creator God? Our lives right now are writing the verses. Can you imagine? Rejoice with me! One day we will have songs to sing from a wellspring of life experiences that are bringing us Home to Him. Each song will be unique…how can it not be? Like a beautiful tapestry, rich with colors of sorrow, love, hope, despair, joy are our life experiences that are unique to each of us. We can’t see the beauty of the tapestry from the back side. God sees the beauty from the whole and nothing is wasted. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Imagine how beautiful the songs we will sing together with Him? Songs we will willingly offer pouring forth from of our hearts. God speed that day!
