There is a song that I love by Hillsong Worship that begins with the words of John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. I woke up this morning to the sound of that song in my heart. A great way to start the day!
I confess there are times when I skim over chapters of Scripture; Joshua 15 was one. It describes the allotment of land for Judah in the Promised Land. I was more concerned with my worries for family which I took to God in prayer and He got right down to the point of my unbelief. I am so grateful He did.
He likened the impossible way of this world that has always been to stone hardening our hearts. What hardens your heart? Anger, fear, doubt? Those are mine. What did He tell me? Let My love do it’s work in you to wash the hardness of doubt away. Keep your eyes and your heart turned to Me. Trust My love in you. Trust my love for you is in them.
Scripture is full of the hardness of this world. It begins and ends in the hearts of each of us. He reminded me this morning He is working His love in my heart and it is sorely needed. He loves me enough to wash me in His healing love. Water stronger than stone! That same love working in me for my good is working in every heart whether we realize it or not. For God so loved the world. A lot of stone! Thank You, Lord, for Your great, healing, redeeming love!
