Things Revealed

Do you ever stop and think about how God has protected you or blessed you or has drawn you near? This morning I was reflecting upon how I have always known and loved God and yet when He drew me to Him in a time of great need, our journey together became personal. That is what God offers and longs for with each of us.

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29.

The Lord is the true vine. We are nourished and protected as we grow in His love. As we grow in His love we bear fruit that is beautiful and brings blessings to ourselves and others. That is what Moses is reminding the people of all through Deuteronomy. Remember. Cling to the Vine of life. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5.

All of Scripture is God revealing Himself that we can grow in understanding as we stay connected to Him. Our understanding is not perfect or complete and He is patient with us as we learn to cling faithfully to Him in trust. Sometimes there are mountains of faith we need to climb; sometimes valleys of doubt. If we take His hand He is there to help us. Take His hand. You don’t need to go it alone. Let Him reveal His love for you and His faithfulness.

It’s good to remember and reflect on what God has done for us…taking stock. As we remember His blessings that help us draw near to Him, His life-giving love flows into us. He is the true Vine. Grow in Him. He alone will nourish you heart and soul and show you what love is; true love that produces beautiful fruit.
