Eating and Rejoicing

Do we consider how much God loves us? He teaches us what is good and warns us from things that will hurt us. We hurt ourselves and others so easily.

Do we eat and rejoice in the presence of the Lord as Moses instructs in Deuteronomy 27:7? It’s a dramatic chapter. Half the tribes on one Mount and the other half on a different Mount as the Levites recite to the people curses for actions that harm. Do we stop to consider what our actions do to others? Do we hurt when we cause others pain?

Be silent, Israel, and listen! v. 9. For all of the drama that day so long ago, what is true remains because God is good.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law.” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All of the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40.

It’s all about our heart. I can’t wait till I can eat and rejoice with God! Can you imagine? In the meantime, I’ll work on growing in love for others that can only come from the Creator of love. Do we see much love today? It’s a heart thing. Lord heal my heart I pray and let me come into your Presence with joy and rejoicing giving thanks for your bountiful love, and help me love others because they are yours dearly loved.

In my walk with God I’m learning it’s very personal. He’s concerned with my heart and yours. One on one is the only way. And then the true journey begins. Open your heart. He’s here.
