God Is Always Here

There is no greater comfort than knowing God is always here with us. As we turn to Him and trust Him, our thoughts are transformed and we no longer think of God being far away “somewhere else”. He is here actively working in us.

The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. Deuteronomy 2:7. Moses’ words to the people speak to us. We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:19-21.

God is the One who watches over us and leads us to Him. He is our light shining in a dark place. What is our dark place, our wilderness? Fear, loneliness, uncertainty, addiction…the list is long and individual. Jesus came in real time to show us what the Father’s love looks like. He lived among us, He healed, He laughed, cried, strengthened feeble hurting hearts; and then He showed us the way going before us into a death that leads to resurrection to life eternal with our Father who has always loved us, always watched over us, always blessed us and has always been with us. Moses knew that, lived that. And surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20. God’s eternal promise to you and to me. Thank You, Lord, for so great a love.
