This Will Be Your Land

Can you imagine God showing you the boundaries of a new land He has promised to you as an inheritance? The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” Genesis 13:14-17.

This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side. Numbers 34:12. The people are about to enter into the land Abraham walked and he walked in faith with God. I wonder did the people grasp the fullness of the blessing God was giving them? Abraham did. He walked with God.

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16. I read the above passage from Hearing God right after reading Numbers 34.

We, too, have an opportunity to walk in faith with God…along ways we have not known, along unfamiliar paths. Walking by faith is walking unfamiliar ground but He promises He will turn the darkness into light before us and make the rough places smooth.

If anyone could count the dust…then Abraham’s offspring could be counted. Who are his offspring too numerous to count? What is our inheritance? With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:8-10, 18-19.

What is our inheritance? God who will never forsake us. Abraham walked in faith with God and so can we. Take His hand and begin a journey with Him. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession – to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14. We don’t walk this path alone. How could we? We don’t know the way but God does. He has known from the very beginning and we are safe in Him always.
