Arise…Shine…

Can we take a moment to wonder what it must have been like for the people? We can read these words of the Bible over and over but do we understand and take in the magnitude of what it was like to be there and experience these amazing times? When Moses finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings. He also anointed and consecrated the altar with all its utensils. The the leaders of Israel, the heads of families who were the tribal leaders in charge of those who were counted, made offerings. They brought as their gifts before the Lord six covered carts and twelve oxen – an ox from each leader and a cart from every two. These they presented before the tabernacle. Numbers 7:1-3.

For twelve days an offering was made. All of the people were there. And then…When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him. v. 89.

Can you imagine? God was present with them. They were united in great love and purpose. And God was with them. Is God with us today? Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. Isaiah 60:1.

Your light has come…The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. John 1:9.

God has never left us alone. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. John 1:14, 16-18.

God’s Presence was with the people in the tabernacle in the wilderness. His Presence dwells with us today. If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you. John 14:15-17, 18. Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said that the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you. John 16:12-15.

God is the One who leads us and teaches us His truth. Trust Him in your life. Who else knows the way? Who else has the experience but God to know divine love that is eternal and that heals? Out of His great love He created. Out of His great love He leads. Out of His great love He dwells among us. Take His hand. He’s here. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7. Can you imagine? Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you! His light illuminates the truth of His love and it is glorious!

  1. What a deep thought and a yearning of our hearts; to comprehend His presence with us each day. We seek what we could never see and live, but His blessings on those who seek Him are bountiful, Hallelujah!
