More Than Enough


In Exodus 36 the people gave so much…And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. v. 3. Can you imagine the joy and excitement in being able to work with God in this wonderful endeavor? They brought so much it was more than enough!

Recently my husband and I were able to travel to North Carolina to visit our son and daughter-in-law and it was wonderful to be with them and to experience the beauty in that area of the country we had never before seen. Do we ever realize how much God loves His creation? For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17.

Each part of this creation of God’s holds special beauty. He delights in it! And now the people are experiencing a small part of that as they are being led to provide what they have to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary just as the Lord has commanded. v. 1. They are building a tabernacle where God’s presence will be with them.

What I am experiencing in my walk with God is that He loves us deeply. It’s so personal when you walk with Him. He’s no longer far away so that you can think of Him occasionally when there is something you need and then go right back to doing what you want oblivious to Who it is who helps you. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24.

What is that truth? This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:13-19.

The people were gladly bringing what they had morning after morning because they were looking toward the building of a tabernacle that would be with them in the wilderness. I doubt they could have conceived that God would dwell in them in Spirit and they in Him. It wasn’t time for them to understand that profound truth. Jesus, God, came to reveal that in His time on this Earth. More than enough? How can we comprehend so great a love? For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19.

We saw the Atlantic Ocean and I wondered how deep and wide it was. We walked on sandy beaches and I wondered how many grains of sand or stars in the sky there were. More than enough? God created it all and He loves His creation. One day every heart will know that love and I wonder what we will all do with Him then? How exciting will it be to work with Almighty God who loves so well and so much we cannot conceive of it anymore than the people could really conceive of it then. More than enough indeed!!
