I Trust God

Revelation 19 is what we long for. Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like peals of thunder, shouting: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! v. 6,7. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. v. 11.

Jesus warned us of wars and rumors of wars on this earth and so we have always had. Wars are necessary because the hearts of men are swayed to do evil. Do you long for an end to war? Do you long for the evil of this world in all it’s manifestations to be brought to an end? Are you weary of lies? Are you tired of injustice in others and in your own heart? Have you had enough of terrorism? We have God’s promise that all sin and evil will be brought to an ending. Jesus will ride on a white horse with His angelic army riding with Him because mens hearts then will have been swayed to do evil and fight against Him who is Faithful and True. They will be defeated and those who deceived them destroyed.

When bad people are punished we feel satisfaction; they “get what they deserve!” We all die once. Some in the future at the battle against God. That’s not the end of their story. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. I trust God. I think we underestimate how deceived our hearts are and how much God understands that and loves us and will work with us to bring us to Him. In His timing and patience and great love. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” (Psalm 44:22) No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39.

Sin will be destroyed. Our sins and our hearts for sin in this evil broken world will be destroyed. Thank God! Nothing will separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord, He who is Faithful and True. He chose us. He chose you. Will you choose Him? We all sin. No one is without sin. As we trust Him, He will cleanse us and be with us. We can’t see clearly in this broken world but God can and does see clearly and He knows His purpose for us. His plan is for our good. Trust Him. You know, I’m so literal when I read the Bible. A sentence ends with a period and I think that’s the end. With God’s help I’m beginning to understand that there is so much more and He is the One who will help me understand. So, I put my trust in Him.
