Have you ever longed for love? The real thing; love that goes deep and strong.
I have always, even as a child, been aware of God, of Jesus and His love for children and lambs he so tenderly held in depictions of Him. There was a moment in my life that had been building when I called out to God and asked Him to help me know Him, really know Him. That moment wasn’t random or sudden. God had been working with me throughout my whole life though I was largely unaware except for small moments of awareness. That’s how He works. He gives us freedom and we experience life with all the choices before us good and bad. He doesn’t take away our will to choose. That would be Satan’s goal.
When I cried out to God He answered me quietly, gently, faithfully. I became more aware of His presence which was love and peace and hope.
I had asked to read the Bible with understanding Him and He answered that, too. This morning in my sacred time with Him…reading a chapter in the Bible rich with history and application of what was read; and then in one of my devotionals, I came across a verse in Jude. Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. Jude 2. Abundance. That’s a wonderful word to describe God’s love. Continuing…To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. Amen. Jude 24-25. With great joy…mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance….
My prayer is that you will ask God to come into your life and help you find a love that is so deep and true and faithful. As you trust Him and this connection you will form with Him through the Holy Spirit you will be nurtured one day at a time, one moment at a time because He lives with us in the present. That’s why Jesus cautioned not to worry about the future which we can’t control but to live in trust of the Father today. That’s how Jesus lived and lives still.
There are moments when I sit quietly and I feel His love surrounding me. His love is deep and strong and ever so gentle and very present and real. He longs for that with you but He will not force you. He loves you too much.
